KNITTING GALORE!
In the last few months I've really taken to my knitting! Maybe it's the onset of the cold weather. Here are some of my most recent knits. All of the things I have knitted recently are on my Ravelry page, along with either the pattern or the pattern source (my user id is Daisysgreen).
I've recently learned to knit with the help of my good friend Jinty and have also been provided with assistance from my mum and mother-in-law, who are very good knitters.Another very useful source was the book 'Beginner's Guide to Knitting' by Alison Dupernex. I do struggle with patience and like to see results fast... so I have been knitting some smaller projects that knit up quickly! Here are some of my first projects....

KNITTED BABY SHOES
These were knitted from a pattern that I found online and was really pleased with the result. I found that the soles were too small knitted on the 2.75mm needles (maybe my tension was too tight), so I knitted them on 3.25mm needles and they worked out great. I attached the soles to the uppers using mattress stitch and was really pleased with the result.
EASY KNIT RIBBED HAT
Luke wearing his hat in the snow |
I knitted Luke's hat first and it must have looked okay, as my friend asked where he got it and I told her I'd knit her one!
Luke's was in Wendy Serenity Super Chunky (Eden) and the beige hat was in Sirdar Big Softie (Muffin). I've printed the pattern below - unfortunately I can't remember from where I obtained the pattern otherwise I would give credit where it is due.
